EX Engineering

Business Description

EX Engineering provide customers with Hazardous Area Electrical Solutions that are both innovative and help their businesses ensure the compliance and safety of their people in high risk, explosive, and remote environments.

EX Engineering is an Australian family business specialising in the supply, modification, repair and design of hazardous area electrical equipment. Since 2013 our team of experienced and knowledgeable staff have been delivering the best solutions to meet hazardous area requirements across many industries, including Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Agriculture and LNG.

Our DEXEN products are an exciting new range of enclosures available for dust only environments. These enclosures come in at a significant cheaper price point than dual certified options (dust and gas). They are generally more compact and provide the option of installing non-IECEx certified components in explosive dust environments.

We supply DEXEN enclosures with viewing windows to allow displays that would normally have to be installed in a safe area to be installed in a Zone 21 or 22 environment.

We supply a range of DEXEN control stations, with isolators available off the shelf, and we build custom control stations in our IECEx-certified workshop. The DEXEN range is also available in ATEX certification if required for Zone 21 &22.

Certified Workshop and competent staff
Supplying equipment is one thing but having the ability to manufacture, assess and repair equipment requires a much higher level of product knowledge and understanding. EX Engineering has been assessed and approved by STAHL and the IECEx scheme to be able to repair and certify hazardous area electrical products.

Equipment Repair
EX Engineering are an IECEx Certified Service Facility. We can repair (and oversee the repair of) equipment of multiple Types of Protection, including Ex t (dust protection by enclosure).
Fast turnaround and local stock
We know how important timing is when it comes to maintenance and breakdowns – so we guarantee a fast turnaround time on all our equipment sourcing and customisation. We have a significant stock holding of Ex rated equipment which we can customise and certify in-house.

We can customise and manufacture our own range of IECEx-certified enclosures DEXEN (Dust EX ENclosures) here in Australia and we can repair dust-certified equipment under our IECEx repair certificate. We have the engineering capability to classify dust hazardous areas and review equipment certified under alternative standards (Conformity Assessment Document CAD).

EX Engineering have the capability and competency to select and review products through our engineering team to:

Review and classify hazardous areas
Select equipment suitable for use in a hazardous area
Complete the required engineering calculations to demonstrate compliance (such as MDP, IS Parameters etc)
Understand protection techniques
Review and give an opinion on equipment suitability
Create and issue Conformity Assessment Documents (CAD)
Create bespoke Ex Solutions i.e. lighting designs
Approve the repair of certified equipment

You don’t have to compromise when selecting more complex equipment to be installed in a hazardous dust environment. The DEXEN range has been designed and certified with the end user in mind. With a large range of enclosure sizes in both Glass Reinforced Polyester (GRP) and 316 Stainless Steel (SS), we can offer a common terminal box, isolator or fully bespoke design to suit your application.

Because DEXEN equipment is designed, built and certified in our workshop, our sales and engineering teams work closely together to ensure your requirements are met.

EX Engineering, with the new DEXEN range, can design and build enclosures that ensure your operations are safe and efficient when you have hazardous dust applications.
We have the capability to manufacture and supply a wide range of electrical equipment certified for use in a dust hazardous area. We are a supplier of all key hazardous area brands and carry significant stock holding in Australia.

We can produce compliant assemblies of equipment (e.g. transportable mini-skids, power distribution trolleys etc).

Our Range of Hire Equipment
EX Engineering is continually developing a range of equipment for hire. For contractors occasionally working in a hazardous area, it may not be feasible to purchase dust certified equipment outright. We may be able to assist with the short-term supply of equipment required for maintenance work. Some of the equipment we will make available for hire:

• Transportable lighting systems
• Transportable power distribution systems and cabling
• Extra Low Voltage Power
• Extra Low Voltage Lighting

Jenike & Johanson Pty Ltd
Business Description

Jenike & Johanson is the world’s leading technology company for bulk material handling, processing, and storage. We deliver engineered solutions to achieve reliable bulk solids flow based on proven theories and decades of project experience. With our skilled and highly technical team of experts and industry-leading innovations, we have successfully delivered bulk material engineering solutions for over 55 years.
Decisions made during the feasibility and engineering stages of a project are critically important for its success. If bulk solids systems are not engineered from the outset to handle the unique characteristics of the materials, process start-up time can be significantly delayed and design capacity may never be reached. Thus, bulk material flow properties are at the core of all Jenike & Johanson’s work. Clients are offered maximum flexibility in selecting services required to meet their bulk material handling needs.
Jenike & Johanson is confident we can help you achieve your bulk material project goals promptly using a proven and science-informed approach and not a “one size fits all” concept.
