The Mission of the Society is to enhance the discipline of bulk solids handling through research, education and sound engineering practice. This is achieved through the following strategies:

• To promote cooperation between universities, research establishments, consultants, equipment manufacturers & suppliers and other industry representatives.

• To encourage research and development, technology transfer and training.

• To promote education at the undergraduate level and continuing education at the postgraduate level, and

• To hold national and international conferences at regular intervals
